The pandemic has fundamentally transformed the hotel industry – with ongoing challenges still ahead. These include new competitors, margin-reducing online travel agencies, and ever-rising customer expectations.
Idea
The Motel One Group – Germany’s leading hotel company – along with its brands Motel One and The Cloud One, has a clear solution to this: listening to their customers‘ needs and giving them the best experience available – both off- and online. So, we created the all-new One Digital Experience.
Implementation
At the heart of the new platforms is an optimised user guidance, a simple booking experience and a multibrand, multichannel design system.
The design system links the two brands and builds synergies through reusable modules – all while maintaining their unique identities.
As a result, users encounter two brand-specific digital worlds that function together in harmony yet operate separately.
Among other technical upgrades, switching to a headless CMS makes the platforms future-proof for the company’s ongoing expansion course.
Results after the relaunch: Average purchase revenue increased by +8%, transactions grew by +4% and page speed by +12%.
